Did I Ever Mention I Love YouTube

I really do love YouTube. Why? Because of things like this:

I’ve probably watched this a few times while trying to keep up with Phil Mill’s notes. It is amazing how much road info Petter Solberg is getting from his co-driver. That is only part 1. Part 2 can be found here.

If you also really like YouTube, TwoGuysRally has a channel. Subscribe to it.

Wow - I can barely hear the instructions completely, let alone be able to respond to them… amazing amounts of preparation and pre-running goes into course notation and logging - it’s an art in itself.

FYI, some of the better rally games for console systems have navigator instructions spoken to you (some have optional HUD instructions, too) but it takes a bit of getting used to.

  2. Charles Smith Says:

Yep. RBR has both spoken and hud, you can choose to turn the hud off.

Yea, isnt that amazing, talk about road info… The first time i watched this i couldnt follow but the second one i think im on top of it for the most part….kind of…

By the way, whats he doing with his right hand (the driver) at 2:20 and at at 3:15? Is there some adjustables down there where he is fiddling? Im trying to see if he is entering a section where he would want to change something, say, front wheel torque distribution for example, or throttle response or something, but i dont know what is adjustable on-the-fly on these cars.

    You guys know??

  4. Steve Mikaric Says:

Maybe it is the volume on his headset or something weird like that??

  5. Charles Smith Says:

Oh. The adjustable stuff is probably brake bias. Yes the volume on the headsets is adjustable but what they would tend to change during races is brake bias.
They can adjust whether the front brakes or rear brakes get more braking force, which changes how a car will pitch into corners.
