The only problems I ever had were when it got warm or you started knocking it off and it would get stuck in the wheel well and not come out. Open wheel wells! That would be awesome. Then again, most rally rules require closed wheel wells, don't they? You would end up getting dirt and mud all over your windshield from the front wheels if the spray coming out wasn't contained. I feel like a non-stick surface of some kind would be easiest for the problems you're having. F1 style! Open wheel wells! That would be awesome. We should have a look later to compare the differences in our wheel wells. My previous idea of adding a heating element is rather impractical, but there are a few things that could have a reasonable chance of working out, like modifying the mud flap. If you bring it closer to the car, it will deflect more of the snow out of the wheel well, slowing down the build up significantly. Coating the liners with Teflon has potential :P Oddly enough, I remember having zero problems in the same exact conditions with my car.
